Day 1 of our olympic trip

so here we are at chaoyang park in beautiful beijing the sun is shinning and it is a perfect day to just get out of the apartment, what is there to do? I forgot we had tickets to the olympics from my dads boss. so we get up at i dont know other then when i opened my eyes the first thing that came to mind was "its too damn early!!!" but whatever im finally going to the olympics. so here we go:

so i know this pic looks familiar for all of you that also follow my dads blog. so this is us outside about to go thru security, which by the way one of us loss our chapstick but his daughter managed to keep hers lol!! that blue thing in the background is the stadium with all the flags of the nations in the olympics.
this is the first game that we get to see it was Belgium Vs. Norway, i cant really remember who won but i think it was Norway.

Bel. is in the red top and blue bottoms, and Norway is in the all blue uniform.

so we take a break go get another beer, and smoke which was kinda our inside joke that we were all passing the olympic torch ourselves because lighters and matches werent allowed in the park but once you see someone with a lit cig or cigar then you are drown towards them and well then one thing leads to another and everyone that smokes gets to smoke and ofcourse just like the olympic torch there are people from all over the world that want to smoke too.

anyways the next game we see is Netherlands Vs. Sweden. and this one i do remember because netherlands beat them pretty bad.
netherlands is in the orange and blue and sweden is in the blue and black. so we take another break to get another beer, no im not an alcoholic i am just my fathers son lol!!

we get back in just in time to see china womens play sweden. now im sorry but i think sweden should have practiced just a lil bit more and not just the womens because the netherlands-sweden game was just as bad.

and i must say the chinese fans really know how to rally with eachother to pump up the team it was echoing thru the entire stadium. well that was it for the olympics or atleast i thought........

dad and i cooking at a friends house

well we got invited to a friends house that my dad works with to make dumplings with her mom and her. my mom was going to come but she wasnt feeling that well at the time. so here are a few pics of our dinner.

so first you have to roll out the dough.then you have to put the filling in and pinch it, of course it took my dad about 15-20secs since it was his first time and it took candy´s mom all of maybe 5secs.then you set them on the resting board, dad what was it made of again?then you boil them 2 or 3 times once they boil you throw in a lil cold water, boil and repeat.and now this is the fruits of `our labor´lol ok well maybe just my dads, candy, and her mothers. but hey i was the camera man while all this was going on.
so we get done eating and dad and i figure it is about time to leave because time truly slips away in china when your having fun it was almost 11pm when we finally looked at the clock. so we take pics with our lovely hosts. the first one is candy`s mother i just cant remember how to spell her name. and the second one is candy.

temple of heaven

ok this blog i am sorry to say still makes me crack up because i was in there for 2 1/2 hours and when i got home and told mom and dad they were trying to figure out how i could spend 2 1/2 hours in there. so i open the map of the grounds and then they realized they had only seen 2 of the atractions out of the maybe 10-12 attractions there. so mom and dad this blog is for you so you can finally see the whole area LOL .so now i get done looking at this and our driver who is muslim i found out was going to take me to the mosque there, well i found out he took me to the biggest muslim district in beijing and to the #1mosque in beijing, the only thing was that well with the olympics it was closed so the muslim athlets could pray still, i told Mr. Ma that maybe in november he can take me there and i should be able to get pics of this place again from the inside.
well now i dont know if many of you heard about the mosque and how they choose the colors for them, it has to represent the country in which it is, that is why in kuwait it is blue(water, pursian gulf) and tan(sand) since that is what represents kuwait the best. besides mom and dad who have been there here is the question for the rest of you out there, "why is this mosque Green?" dont think too hard but once you hear the answer it will make sense. you have 2 days

the great wall

ok so here we are ryan and i at the great wall, well i didnt realize he hadnt gotten on the ski lift with me so i decided to jump out!!! trust me if you ever get the chance to go to the wall never jump off the lift the guys there flip out and start yelling in chinese, if you look at the second pic you will see the 2nd yellow pole that building to the left of it is where we started at and trust me it was a lil different riding the ski lift up to the top and hearing every little sound. so anyways here we are walking the wall and for 2 soldiers it shouldnt be a problem right?, WRONG 1 hour of walking the wall and my legs were thru thankgod we took a break at the top for about 30-45mins drinking our victory beers at the end of the wall!

if you look at the pic above you can see the building at the very top of the hill that is our stopping point little did we know we would be forced to stop there anyways because that is the end of the wall.ok so we had our beer and now its time to head back down where our driver was waiting for us, i turned around and saw this view and the first thing out of my mouth was"holy s*i* did we really hike up that and now we have to go down it"

1st day in beijing

softball

well here is our softball team, we finished in 2nd place and well we arent real sure if we are going to go to the kuwait championship or not. we had an off and on season, but in the end we finished 2nd for our post, and for a team that hasnt really played before and a coach that has no clue about softball i would say that it was a very good season. i dont really have much to say about this except that the field wasnt the best bc of all the rocks that are in the field.

shhh!!!! this isnt really allowed

ok if you cant tell yes im still in the desert but at a REAL golf course. this was a great day for us just relaxing. if you look close enough you will see in one of the pics there is even a water hazard. this golf course is in the middle of the horse/camel race track. The pic of the building is the club house. to amaze you even more this isnt fake grass this is the real deal. and the feel of it was great. the course was hard for the people that were playing, but for you that really know me, i dont think golf is fun at all, but watching them get pissed at their crappy hits was fun, and the fact that i had my own golf cart, HAHAHA it was almost as much fun as driving grandmother and granddads.
